Uncut Rietveld at Stedeljik

"Love here is not quiet; it is loud, collective, and tender in its exhaustion. The voice and gestures constitute a reclamation of the sensual and emotional body from the machinery of repression."

My departure point was this very special milisecond — that milisecond you catch yourself saying a word or a phrase in the exact same way one of your loved ones would say it. And suddenly, you really feel that person, that moment, they were present, in front of you. And then your soul chuckles because of that magic and continues on daily life.

It is this treat we work with. Love when it is unconscious and subconscious. I am interested in how we perform language and how love can be awakened and travel through particular tones, accents, rhythms, word choice, phrasing.

Inspired by Pina Bausch's methods, I facilitated regular group rehearsals where each performer found their own personal sound or phrase that evoked someone they love. Using all of the different sounds, I orchestrated the sound piece which we then choreographed.

This performance becomes a collective revival that shows how love leaks and echoes. This performance is a symphony of tenderness, resonance, memory and the quiet (or not so quiet) revolutions that begin with the voice.

Sound installation

This sound installation responds to my experience of the student-led protests and blockades in Belgrade following the collapse of the newly built train station canopy in Novi Sad, Serbia, on 1st of November 2024, which killed sixteen people. The tragedy initiated long-term student blockades, assemblies, and civic protests against corruption, institutional negligence, and authoritarian power.

At the time, I was part of Culture in Blockade who stood with students of Serbia in the fight against the regime. The installation is structured as a journey through discussions, fragments of film and song, political speech, silence, and sonic recreations of the weapon used against protesters during the sixteen-minute vigil for the victims on the 15th of March 2025.

It pays respect to the victims of the Novi Sad tragedy, whose deaths shook the population out of political numbness and into a collective battle for a better future.

"If I love you 1 kilo of feather,"... will you love me one kilo of stone? A short film in Dutch and Spanish that follows the inner dialogue of two lovers caught in confusion, mistranslation, and inherent imbalance. In a world where everything feels unstable, they ask for certainty at least from each other. Yet their thoughts, languages, cultures, and political realities keep interfering.

"I love that I hate you" follows Tifani in New York City. Around her, wealth and intimacy blur into transactional performances guided by two finance bros who move with a charming, malicious and ignorant bliss. Tifani falls for their tricks and engages in fleeting connections with men who embody New York's confidence, ultimately becoming a victim of the city that never stops consuming.

Projection Mapping - watch here
Washington Square Monument

"Catching Tifani" is a projection mapped onto Washington Square monument, a lasting symbol of American democracy and freedom. It is set in New York City, a place that appears as both the centre of capitalism and a great seductive illusion. The city moves for speed, novelty and ambition. Everything feels modern, urgent, and already disappearing.

Tifani is a figure caught inside this rhythm - chasing - chasing performance, survival, and the promise of becoming somebody (classic). New York outlines the machine of desire, where the body is pushed to keep up with the demands of visibility, productivity, and invention.

Through Tifani, I explore the fantasy of capitalism and the transformation under capitalism. The work asks what happens when freedom begins to look like exhaustion, and when the dream of becoming becomes another form of being consumed.

Bound Forever Together

Short Film - watch here

"Bound Forever Together" is a short film based on the sculpture of the Rabbitwoman and Dogman (by Gillie and Marc) seated together in New York City's Financial District. Placed within the symbolic landscape of Wall Street, the figures become trapped companions inside the architecture of capital, profit, and extraction.

The rabbit woman is intuitive and all-seeing. She recognizes the destruction and ecological damage unfolding around her. The dog man remains oblivious, unable or unwilling to recognize his own role in this destruction. Tensions forms as light is shed on denial, rcomplicity, instinct and obedience.

The work also looks toward the possible colonization of the Moon, imagining it as an extension of the same destructive logic. Greediness on Earth extends into the fantasy of expansion in space. The Moon appears as a territory to be possessed - but also as another body, another creature, another form of nature, at risk of being damaged by the same systems that have already exploited our planet.

The work becomes a fable about the impossibility of escape from structures that demand participation even from those who resist them.

"Let Me Live Forever" is a work about the fantasy of infinity. But just like with life, there are always some caveats. I think I must turn into a jellyfish if i want to be immortal. Would I want that? Would you want that? I'm not so sure.

I really want to live forever

Short Film - watch here

"I really want to live forever" is an archival work about data, its production and it extinction.

The work looks at how we constantly produce information, and how that information is collected, handled, stored, taken apart, manipulated and transformed into value. Through research into digital archiving and 3D scanning, I became interested in the preservation of endangered frogs.

From there, the work moves toward a larger and more violent question. If we can archive animals as they approach extinction, what does it mean to witness the destruction of people, families, lineages, and entire cultural histories? Thinking about the genocide in Palestine, the work asks what is being preserved, what is being erased, and who is given the right to survive in the archive.

Navigating through a superiority complex implies immediately battling its counterpart, the inferiority complex. With this film I explore the delicate nature of confidence - or its absence - within the context of technology as a mirror of ourselves.

As AI technology advances,  it is necessary to question will these replicas truly fulfill our cravings for love, attention and connection, or will they only serve to isolate and deepen our sense of loneliness and discontent?

Video Performance - watch here

Standing at 4.5 meters, this projection assumes the role of a silent, yet seemingly within reach deity. This piece prompts the question of the big other and our relationship with them. Amidst the constant pressure to constantly define and align with my self, this performance becomes a sanctuary as complexes collide.

Performance

During my part-time job, I sustained a neck injury that caused my arms to go numb. Recognizing the necessity to prioritize and respect my body, particularly my neck, was imperative for continuing my practice. I've always held a fascination with the neck, both for its delicate elegance and its role as the connection between the mind and the body.

As anticipation grew for the premiere of a film I worked on, my mind was wandering the streets of Los Angeles, a city I've never been to before. However, my body was bound to wait in Amsterdam, operating on auto-pilot. I was disconnected.

To bridge this gap, I wanted to familiarize myself with the very vehicle that would connect my mind and body - the airplane. During a 11 hour flight, I spoke to 11 people - exchanged phone numbers, restaurant recommendations, love stories, spiritual mantras and even got offered a job.

On my way back from Los Angeles to Amsterdam, I was boarded on a night flight, tired and ready to finish the 8-day long travel. I wanted to approach the mission of connecting the mind and the body with the same determination as I did going into this journey. Opening up myself through opening up my diary, letting it hop from seat to seat, I created a safe space for passengers to write down their thoughts and memoirs. This was a shared act of vulnerability and intimacy and cannot be labled neither physical or non-physical.
